It's never ending...

This week has been one of the longest weeks of my life, and my life has been filled with a few long weeks. My week started off with a short road trip to Virginia with my husband. The drive and the trip itself was great and I enjoyed my time I spent there with my husband, but the reason wasn't exactly pleasant (To be later discussed). When we got back, on our way to our oldest's hockey practice, we found out that one of the lovely potholes cracked the rear frame of our minivan and it is now total junk. Not only did I already have one car in the driveway that needed to be fixed but now I have a giant paper weight parked right next to it. Oh my poor golden chariot. This now means I had to depend on my best friend to drive my husband to work, myself to the store and my son to hockey. Great, I'm not one to like to ask for help and I don't like having to depend on others but I had no choice. After that mess came the rush of stress and anxiety of where can I junk my minivan and who might buy my slightly broken car, I liked to think of as a mechanic's special. A few vague inquiries later we found two potential buyers for my poor broken VW and two junk yards for my minivan. Day 1 of trying to sell my car to the potential buyer and he offers me 100 dollars over junk yard value and I giggled. Buyer number 2 didn't show up. They left me saying "what the hell?" all night long. Day 2 original buyer number 1 offers more money while buyer number 2 pleads for me not to junk the car, leaving me feeling bad so I held off of crushing my VW. I ended up having my golden chariot junked and blew up every email and phone number i could find for a vehicle we could afford. Vehicle number one was in ok condition but shitty enough that this buyer definitely wasn't getting what he wanted for it. Luckily vehicle number 2 was in good enough condition and in our price range that we snagged it. It was big enough to fit our three kids and plenty of trunk space to fit hockey equipment and both our dorses (horse like dogs). The seller was even nice enough to give us a small tour of their fabulous house while my husband threw out hints of wanting to buy it from them. In the midst of all this chaos, my husband's work hours were extended and we both were exhausted running on roughly 4 hours of sleep a night after a 24 hour turn around to Virginia and back home again on Monday. Back to selling my poor broken car. Eventually, after many ignored text messages from the buyer, he finally text me to buy my broken VW as my best friend was 2 minutes away from pulling it up to the junkyard on his trailer. Exhaustingly we turn around and head back home to meet up with my buyer and thankfully the patience paid off and he took the damn thing home finally. The ridiculous games people play when they are trying to buy your items are emotionally draining, so thank goodness for wine. My poor son missed most of his hockey this week and my husband and I both have bags the size of Lake Ontario forming under our eyes from this week's extremely busy schedule. I never knew how much sleep really affects your mood until you're about to rip off everyone's head off for so much as showering too loudly. I can say the up sides to the week were there as well like learning my daughter enjoys old films, so I watched "Casablanca" with her, and solving one problem life has thrown at me this week. Now if only I could figure out how to solve the rest of my problems.
